(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)SAN ANTONIO–(KFOR July 23)–Nebraska Task Force 1 crew members are monitoring the Nueces River Basin in south Texas, as storm activity continues to develop in the Gulf of Mexico. On Wednesday, crews spent the day on the water and along its banks , tracking flow, gauge readings and terrain response as river levels recede. Surveying allows the crew to understand where the danger could suddenly reappear. The 43-member task force is refining response plans tied to river and creek levels, confirming ground and boat routes in and out of the area, and keeping swift water and boat rescue teams ready to move at a moment’s notice.
