A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Pennsylvania State Police said he sped through a stop sign and caused a crash in Allentown that injured two people. Troopers said the crash occurred on July 22, at approximately 1:06 p.m. at the intersection of North 6th and Cedar streets. According to PSP, investigators determined the 24-year-old man was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban at a high rate of speed when he ran a stop sign and struck a Mercedes-Benz in the intersection. Officials said the collision caused the Mercedes-Benz to crash into a nearby home. After the crash, troopers said the driver of the Suburban ran away from the scene. He was later apprehended and taken into custody. According to PSP, both occupants in the Mercedes-Benz were transported to a hospital with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately available.
