Members of several unions across the Bay Area joined the picket lines Tuesday in solidarity with striking CH Sugar workers. Trucks were backed up outside the Port of Oakland as longshore workers walked off the job to join picket lines at the CH Sugar refinery in Crockett, standing in solidarity w ith other unions seeking what they call a fair contract. Around 90 Local 6 workers went on strike back on June 15. Since then, a ship carrying sugar has sat moving between Richmond and Crockett, waiting to be unloaded.
