What to KnowA First Alert has been issued for the entire region on Tuesday, July 21, from 2 p.m. through midnight as severe storms in the afternoon and evening may bring damaging winds, tornadoes, hail and flooding.A Flash Flood Warning and a Tornado Watch are both in effect for the Philadelphia reg ion through Tuesday night. The first Tornado Warning of the night was issued for Cape May County, New Jersey. Storms tapping into the high humidity could produce flash flooding in our area once again, especially with the potential for multiple rounds of thunderstorms. The cold front approached from the northwest during the late afternoon and will continue through the evening hours, posing the greatest threat as it moves from Lehigh Valley and Berks into the Pennsylvania suburbs, through the Philadelphia area and onto Delaware and South Jersey.The primary threat is damaging wind with the possibility of large hail, isolated tornadoes, and the potential for heavy rain putting flash flooding on the table.Conditions will improve overnight for many neighborhoods as the cold front pushes to the south, but it will not completely clear our area.
