BART riders can expect more room during their commute starting Monday as the transit agency rolls out longer trains on several lines during peak travel times. Most trains on the Red, Yellow, Blue and Green lines will now operate with eight- or 10-car trains during peak commute hours. Shorter trai ns will continue to run during non-peak hours and on the Orange line. BART says the longer trains will provide more space, giving more commuters a chance to find a seat instead of standing. On the Red Line, 10-car trains will run during peak periods. The Yellow Line will add 10-car trains for its eight busiest morning commutes and six busiest commutes overall. The Green Line will add two more 8-car trains heading toward San Francisco in the morning, while the Blue Line will add one more 8-car train heading toward the East Bay in the afternoon. On the Orange Line, four trains will operate with five cars, while the remaining trains will have six cars. BART is also making schedule changes beginning Aug. 10.
