Courtesy of Connoisseur Media Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR July 20)–A candidate for Nebraska’s first congressional district is ending his campaign run because of concerns over his father’s health. Non-partisan candidate Austin Ahlman said in a statement that his father’s cancer had returned and t hat he and his family had “gone from speaking about the future in terms of decades to mere months.” Ahlman announced earlier this month that he had enough signatures to be on the ballot. The race is back between incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Flood and Democratic nominee Chris Backemeyer . Libertarian Nik Sandman is also running in the Nov. 3 race.   ...read more read less
