A San Francisco restaurant is facing some backlash after the owners used AI to create photos of their menu items. They posted it on their window, not thinking much of it, but what followed were bad reviews and even vandalism. Lyndsey Lozano and her husband just opened the doors at Grind and Unwin d a couple of months ago, with a focus on serving coffee and pastries made by Lozano herself – along with drinks at their bar. “It’s a touristy area, we thought let’s put some pictures up, let’s put signs up so they know what we have, it as just a temporary sign, to kind of let everyone know we are here… but it did not get the response we were expecting,” Lozano said. Other people were like ‘Is that really how much effort you put into your business?’,” she said. About a week ago, she says someone spray painted what looks to say “seriously” outside. They’ve now painted over it and she’s taken down the menu she created using AI. Now she’s looking to move forward and is now put her pastries by the window for people to see as they walk by. “We’re focusing on our good pastries, on our coffee, we have a really good burger,” Lozano said. “We’re trying to make a really nice spot for locals to hang out, to be with each other and enjoy really delicious baked goods.” ...read more read less
