Omaha Man Accused of Threatening Schools, Nuns and Children of Gov. Pillen on Social Media

File photo courtesy of the Nebraska State Patrol.OMAHA–(KFOR July 18)–The Nebraska State Patrol has arrested a 32-year-old Omaha man for allegedly threatening to commit a mass shooting at catholic schools in Columbus and kill nuns and the children of Governor Jim Pillen.

d following a standoff Friday in Omaha. The patrol says a Facebook post on June 26 under the name of Bobby McGee that Halstead apparently used indicated he was going to commit the shooting “for (expletive) funsies.” Initially, investigators then searched his home and found a phone and router that had history aligning to when the threat was sent.
Investigators say Halstead has a history of making violent threats, having previously been convicted of threatening an ex-boyfriend and setting his bedroom on fire while recording. Halstead on Friday was put in the Douglas County Jail.
