Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for parts of Hamilton, Clermont, and Warren counties through early Saturday morning after multiple inches of rain fell in some areas.After flooding throughout the area caused a variety of emerg encies, Cincinnati Fire Chief Frank McKinley held a press conference to discuss the response.McKinley said the Cincinnati Fire Department responded to 40 water rescues. One person was injured and taken to the hospital, according to McKinley. He said the most affected areas are Oakley, Madisonville and parts of Pleasant Ridge.You can watch the fire chief's full press conference in the player below: Cincinnati fire chief responds to flash flooding Our 9 First Warning Radar is estimating 4 inches of rain has fallen in Oakley.Amid the heavy rainfall, the City of Cincinnati put out an alert encouraging residents to stay off the roads and avoid unnecessary travel.Multiple lanes of Interstate-71 were shut down Friday evening as a result of heavy flooding.On I-71 South beyond Ridge and Kennedy avenues, flooding caused all lanes to shut down. The highway started reopening, and just the right lane remains closed.Flooding also temporarily shut down all lanes on I-71 North beyond the Norwood Lateral. Now, just the right three lanes are closed. Images and videos sent to WCPO show flooding through areas including Hyde Park, Oakley and Norwood. Many residents and business owners throughout the Cincinnati area experienced property damage due to the flooding.
