The City of San Diego has implemented a restriction on rideshare pickups in the Gaslamp Quarter on Friday and Saturday nights.
The city says to address crowds and traffic congestion on busy weekends, they implemented a restriction on Uber and Lyft pickups on 5th Avenue between Market and E Street from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Instead, rideshare users will be directed to designated pickup locations outside a geofenced area. But the city says rideshare users can still be dropped off within the restricted area during the specified times.
