The Utah Department of Transportation will begin a pavement preservation project on S.R. 224 on Monday, July 20, resurfacing over 1 mile of roadway between the Marsac Roundabout and S.R. 248, Kearns Boulevard.  Crews will complete milling and paving operations overnight to reduce daytime im pacts. Overnight operations will run between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., or until 8 a.m. on Sunday mornings, from July 20 to fall 2026.  UDOT said the work will extend the life of the roadway, improve ride quality and maintain safe and reliable travel. Beyond resurfacing, the project includes ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades, sidewalk improvements, updated striping and pavement markings, sign replacements, limited traffic signal improvements and landscaping restoration.  Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, traffic shifts, reduced speeds through work zones and delays while work is underway. UDOT said it encourages travelers to plan extra time and follow posted signs through the work zones. The public may also notice nighttime construction noise, lighting directed toward work areas and temporary pedestrian and bicycle route adjustments.  Access to homes, businesses, and transit facilities will stay open throughout construction.  UDOT’s public information team is available to answer questions or concerns:  Hotline: 833-819-6776  Email: [email protected]  To receive project updates by email, contact the public information team at the address above and enter “Updates” in the subject line.  Learn more at udotinput.utah.gov/sr224improved.  The post UDOT to begin S.R. 224 preservation project July 20  appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
