KEY TAKEAWAYS: New online dashboard provides a centralized view of infrastructure projects and utility work across New Orleans. Platform displays active and planned capital projects, SWB maintenance and other infrastructure activities. Infrastructure Coordination Committee was created to impro ve project scheduling and coordination among city agencies and utilities. City says the dashboard will increase transparency and help residents and businesses track infrastructure work.   The City of New Orleans has launched an interactive online dashboard designed to give residents, businesses and utility providers a centralized view of infrastructure projects and maintenance work taking place across the city. The new Infrastructure Coordination Committee (ICC) Dashboard displays active and planned capital projects, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans maintenance work orders and other infrastructure activities. According to the city, the platform allows users to see where work is occurring, what projects are underway and when construction or maintenance is expected to take place. City officials said the dashboard is intended to improve transparency and coordination among public agencies, utilities and the public by consolidating project information into a single online resource. The dashboard was developed through the Infrastructure Coordination Committee, which Mayor Helena Moreno established through Executive Order HM 26-04. The committee includes the city’s Department of Public Works, the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, city capital project teams and utility partners working to better coordinate infrastructure investments and construction schedules. The city said participating organizations include the Department of Public Works, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, Entergy, Delta Utilities, ATT, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and other infrastructure stakeholders. “This tool is the result of many hours of collaboration and data sharing between key infrastructure stakeholders, including DPW, SWBNO, Entergy, Delta Utilities, ATT, DOTD, and others,” Steve Nelson, deputy chief administrative officer for infrastructure and director of the Department of Public Works, said in a statement. “Our hope and goal are that this tool will provide a useful one stop location for our residents, businesses, and infrastructure providers to find out who is and/or will be working and provide links to additional details and a means for more transparent communication and coordination.” According to the city, the dashboard is part of a broader effort to modernize infrastructure planning, improve project delivery and provide greater visibility into infrastructure work across New Orleans. ...read more read less
