On Monday, shortstop Dylan Carey signed with the New York Mets organization.  He was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and first-te am All-Big Ten after batting .353 with 16 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 65 RBI and 53 runs scored. Then on Tuesday, Husker junior outfielder Mac Moyer signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Padres.  The center fielder earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and was selected to the Big Ten’s All-Defensive Team after tying a single-season school record with a 1.000 fielding percentage in 2026. Moyer appeared in 60 games, making 57 starts in center field in his lone season with the Huskers. He batted .353 with 13 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 38 RBI and a team-high 65 runs scored.
