At 1:18 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. for Oneida, Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties."Heat index values between 95 and 102 degrees expected," describes the weather service.
