Park City police respond to loudness reports, including a ‘Battle of the bands’

The Park City Police Department received several recent complaints about loudness, including one that apparently included several bands.
Park City appeared to remain busy in the stretch after Independence Day. Noise complaints are commonplace during times of heavy tourism.
The recent cases in
cluded:
On Friday, July 10, at 10:53 p.m., the police received a complaint about music on Woodside Avenue that was described as “really loud.” The police were told the music sounded “like a concert,” according to public police logs. The police were told the music was keeping the person who contacted the agency awake. The police classified the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On July 10 at 10:02 p.m., the police received a complaint about a lodging property along Main Street that was “still blaring music outside,” and the sound was making it difficult for the person to sleep. The person requested an officer have the volume lowered. The police classified the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On Wednesday, July 8, at 11:36 p.m., people were reported to be outside along Park Avenue and playing music that was described as loud. There were approximately 12 people, the police were told. The department logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On Tuesday, July 7, at 6:50 p.m., a “Battle of the bands” was reported in the area of Woodside Avenue and 13th Street. The person who contacted the police indicated the volume may be louder than allowed, according to public police logs. The department categorized the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
