Love can sweep you off your feet. She was already off of hers when her partner asked for her hand in marriage.
That’s because Alexis Hardy had been injured while she and her partner, Tim Dupere, were hiking New Hampshire’s Mount Kearsarge on Saturday morning. Dupere had been planning to propo
se, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
Hardy had suffered an injury to her lower leg on the mountain’s Barlow Trail before noon and needed to be carried out because she couldn’t walk anymore. But while she was being rescued, officials said, Dupere presented an engagement ring and asked Hardy to marry him. She accepted.
The rescue team, which included first responders from Warner, Hopkinton and the Fish and Game Department, carried the Sandown resident up to the top of the mountain and down another trail to a waiting ambulance, which took her to Concord Hospital for treatment.
The couple hasn’t shared any statements but did pose for a few pictures with rescuers, who offered the couple their congratulations.
