A man was killed in a house fire in South Whitehall Township early Monday, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. According to the coroner’s office, the incident happened at about 4:40 a.m. on Monday, when flames tore through a home along the 2800 block of Helen Street in South Whitehall T ownship. The coroner’s office said the individual was pulled from the burning home by firefighters and was pronounced at the scene at about 5 a.m. However, the coroner’s office did not provide additional identifying information on the individual as they are working to contact the victim’s next of kin. But, the office said an autopsy would be conducted on Monday to determine the man’s cause of death.
