it, and an officer was transported to a hospital with injuries. Just before 11 a.m., the spokesperson told us the officer was released from the hospital "and is in good spirits."Colerain police said officers were dispatched for reports of a dog on the highway; a Colerain officer was searching for the dog on the west side of Ronald Reagan from inside their cruiser, with emergency lights on.While the officer was searching, another driver crashed into the cruiser's rear-end and the force of the crash pushed that other vehicle through a cable barrier and into the eastbound lanes of traffic, police said.The other driver involved in the crash is not injured, and is cooperating with police, the spokesperson said.The crash happened around 7:36 a.m. Thursday morning; the highway was completely shut down for over two hours following the crash. It re-opened around 10:45 a.m.Officials have not provided any details on the crash, what may have caused it or the extent of the officer's injuries.Colerain police said the highway was expected to be closed for "an extended length of time," following the crash.
