The Dallas Wings are headed back to Toronto (9-11) after defeating the New York Liberty (13-9), the 2026 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champions. Jessica Shepard had her third triple-double of the season. Dallas is now 14-8, easily the best start to a season since the team relocated from Tulsa, half way through the season. Dallas already has more road wins this season than it did in all of 2025. The Las Vegas Aces, whom the Wings have beaten this season, and the Minnesota Lynx, led by rookie sensation Olivia Miles (TCU), are tied for first in the conference and the league at 15-6. Miles is the favorite to win WNBA Rookie of the Year. Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever are first in the Eastern Conference at 12-8. They come to Dallas to play the Wings at the American Airlines Center on Aug. 20. Dallas defeated Toronto last week on the back of Paige Bueckers. Bueckers scored 22, and the Wings never trailed. Bueckers and Shepard are both starters in the WNBA All-Star Game on July 25 at the United Center in Chicago. The Wings’ next home game is the first of the season at the American Airlines Center, on Sunday, July 12 against Chicago. Chicago is one of the worst teams in the league at 7-14. ...read more read less
