The roadway has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash caused drivers to idle ahead of the Wednesday morning rush hour when the incident closed all southbound lanes of I-95 through Northeast Philly. Officials said a multi-vehicle crash happened at about 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday, along I-95, causing t he southbound lanes of the roadway between Exit 30 for Cottman Avenue and Rhawn Street to Exit 26 for the Betsy Ross Bridge and Aramingo Avenue, to close to traffic. As spotted by NBC10’s SkyForce 10 on Wednesday morning, as of about 6:40 a.m., lines of traffic seemed to stretch along the roadway for miles as four vehicles blocked the roadway and drivers and passengers could be seen walking between the vehicles damaged in the crash. However, officials did not immediately say what may have caused this crash, how many vehicles were involved or if anyone was injured in this incident. As of about 7 a.m., lanes were starting to reopen and traffic was beginning to move again. Officials said the incident was expected to be cleared by 7:45 a.m. NBC10 is working to learn more.
