A 16-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after being shot in South Philadelphia on Monday morning, police said. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on Monday, July 6, 2026, at around 10:01 a.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of Latona Street after receiving a report th at a person shot. When officers got to the scene, police said they found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers transported the boy to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was placed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, police said. No arrests have been made, and no weapon has been recovered at this time.
