Kenneth Kretzer Credit: Courtesy Kenneth Michael Kretzer passed away peacefully at his home in Sun City, Ariz., on January 26, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Ken was born to Howard and Gladys Kretzer on November 11, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Merritt Island, Fla., and W illiston, Vt. Ken’s fun-loving spirit led him to explore many interests, from camping and guitar playing to swing dancing, rock hounding and jewelry making, to name a few. Wherever he went, Ken’s ability to make friends was legendary. He leaves behind his wife, Kathie; daughter, Lela; son, Gary; mother, Gladys Kretzer; sister, Kathryn Couillard, and husband Dan; as well as nieces, nephews, much beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a legion of friends. Special thanks to the Mayo Clinic of Phoenix, Ariz., for the stellar care received there and the close friends who provided critical support during Ken’s four-year battle with esophageal cancer.
