Federal warrant details alleged ‘Skinhead' attacks near Oceanside Pier
Jul 03, 2026
A newly filed federal search warrant is shedding light on two alleged violent attacks near the Oceanside Pier in June 2025 that investigators say involved men identifying themselves as “skinheads.”
According to the warrant, the attacks occurred the same evening and targeted multiple victims.
The suspects have not been officially charged, but the warrant says charges including hate crimes, violent interference with federally protected rights and conspiracy are pending.
The first attack happened just after sunset near the Oceanside Pier, according to the warrant. The victims were a husband and wife. The husband, who is 21 years old, is described in the warrant as dark-skinned and identifies as Asian American.
According to the warrant, the men yelled racial slurs before attacking the couple.
One of the men allegedly said, “Didn’t you hear my friend talking to you? Don’t you know who we are? We’re skinheads.”
The wife was not injured, but the husband suffered severe head injuries. According to the warrant, he experienced memory loss for weeks afterward and was unable to remember the names of family members and common household objects.
Witnesses told investigators the attackers repeatedly punched the victim before slamming his head into a concrete restroom wall several times.
Minutes later, investigators say a second attack occurred at Pier Plaza involving two Camp Pendleton Marines, one white and one black.
According to the warrant, the attack was unprovoked.
The warrant states: “They shouted RACIAL SLURS ‘n——r’ multiple times in the Marines’ direction and yelled, ‘you ain’t gonna do s—t.’ Victims 2 and 3 did not respond to these taunts.”
Security camera images included in the investigation show two of the three men approaching the Marines from a staircase. According to the warrant, the Marines were punched, beaten and kicked, suffering severe injuries.
The federal search warrant seeks access to the three suspects’ cellphone records. Investigators believe the phones may contain evidence related to planning and coordinating the attacks, including the suspects’ movements before and during the incidents. The warrant says all three phone numbers have 951 area codes.
According to the investigation, one of the alleged attackers has a skinhead tattoo prominently displayed on his arm.
Oceanside police located two of the three suspects at Pier Plaza the night of the alleged attacks. A third suspect was detained later at another location. According to the warrant, all three men told officers they acted in self-defense.
The search warrant notes investigators are reviewing witness statements, surveillance video and other evidence as the self-defense claims are examined.
At this point, none of the three suspects has been officially charged.
