2 men in hospital after overnight plane crash in Lancaster County

LANCASTER CO., S.C. – Two pilots are fighting for their lives following an overnight plane crash in Lancaster County. First responders rushed to a wooded area off Brooklyn Avenue just before one Thursday morning.
According to the FAA, the plane left from a small airport in Mississippi and was h
eaded to the Stanly County Airport in Albemarle.
Police say a twin-engine Beechcraft crashed through the trees, landed on a hillside, and caught fire. One pilot reported engine failure shortly before going down.
Both men were found responsive but suffered severe burns. They were airlifted to regional medical facilities for treatment.
