There were areas of fog Monday morning, with the high humidity, some thick fog, especially in the suburbs and parts of South Jersey. The fog dissipated by 9 a.m, however. Temperatures are rising to near 90° this afternoon under partly sunny skies, with a slight chance of an isolated shower or t hunderstorm. It will be a hot day on Tuesday with the humidity staying in check, and a high of 91° under partly sunny skies. Then temperatures and humidity soar Wednesday through Saturday with highs in the upper 90s and potentially topping 100° on Thursday and Friday. Through the period, excessive humidity will make it feel like 105° to 110°. We have issued a Heat Alert – be prepared to stay hydrated and find cool spots for much of later this week. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then a better chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms arrives Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Unfortunately Saturday is the Fourth of July with all the celebrations and World Cup in town, so showers and thunderstorms may impact outdoor events.
