Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks: How to score free NYC tix to the famed event

The Mayor’s Office is giving out 100,000 free tickets to watch the 50th Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks.
The tickets will be in prime viewing locations along the Brooklyn and Manhattan waterfronts.
The lottery opened Friday, June 26 at 10 a.m. and runs through Monday, June 29 at 11:59 p.m.
“On the Fourth of July, Americans come together to look at where we’ve come as a nation, and where we want to go together in the future. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers will gather along our waterfront to celebrate, and we’re making sure that some of the best views are available for free,” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Here’s everything you need to know before entering:
How do I enter?
You can enter the lottery between June 26 and 29.
Only one registration is allowed per person. You must enter as the primary ticket holder using your name, phone number and email address.

What if I am selected?
If you are selected, you will be notified by email with a specific timeframe to claim your tickets.
Winners will be notified between June 30 and July 3.
How do I claim my ticket?
During your designated claim window, you can select an available standing zone and complete your registration before your time expires.
When do I arrive?
On July 3, details about arrival times, entry points and viewing zones will be distributed.
Ticketed viewing opens at 4 p.m. in Brooklyn and 6:30 p.m. in Manhattan.
For those not selected in the lottery, non-ticketed public viewing along the FDR Drive in Manhattan opens at 6 p.m.
How are lottery winners chosen?
The lottery is fully randomized.
Tickets are not assigned based on neighborhood, borough, residency or the time in which you entered.
What information do I need to enter?
You will need to enter:
Your name as it appears on your ID
Your email address
Your phone number
How many times can I enter?
You can only enter once per phone number.
A verification code will be sent to confirm your entry.
Do I need to live in NYC?
No. You do not need to live in New York City to enter.
Location is not part of the lottery selection process.
Can I bring a group if I win?
Yes. If selected, you can register a group of up to four people, including yourself and three guests.
Each guest must have their name and email submitted to receive their own ticket.
What if I don’t win a ticket?
If you do not win a ticket, non-ticketed public viewing areas are open along the FDR Drive in Manhattan.
