Former Parkland bus drivers illegally accessed photos of students, police say

Lew enforcement officials in Lehigh County have charged two former bus drivers in the Parkland School District in Allentown with illegally accessing the district’s computer data, including printing photos of students in the district.
On Friday, law enforcement officials announced charges again
st Shawn Levy, 32, of Breinigsville, and Tyler Young, 27, of Allentown, after they, allegedly, entered a Parkland School District bus garage and illegally gained access to the district’s computer records.
Officials said that the pair have been charged with felony conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to criminal trespass and conspiracy to unlawful duplication, among other offenses.
According to police, the investigation into Levy and Young began after the district notified police following an unauthorized entry at the Orefield Middle School bus garage, along the 2600 block of Stadium Drive, that happened at about 10 p.m. on June 6, 2026.
At that time, officials claim, both men were caught on surveillance cameras as they entered the secured garage — that neither had access to enter — and spent about two hours together inside.
Neither man, officials said, had district permission to be in that garage after hours.
Following this incident, police learned that a foreman at the garage, who was not present on June 6, 2026, learned of computer log in attempts from his cell phone and computer, which was at the garage at the time.
A review of these log ins found that multiple disciplinary files were accessed when Levy and Young were alleged to be at that garage, officials said.
As the investigation continued, police said, school district employees located a printed roster of students — that included photographs of students — that had been assigned to Levy’s bus.
Neither Levy nor Young were authorized to access or print out photographs of students, police said.
Overall, the investigation found that, on at least 55 occasions, Levy and Young are believed to have used unauthorized access to view and duplicate protected district files, including photographs of students in the district.
Young was arraigned and released on $50,000 unsecured bail on June 25, 2026, police said. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 16, 2026.
Levy surrendered to police on June 26, 2026, and is set to be arraigned later in the day.
