Firefighters Wednesday night put out a vegetation fire in the eastern foothills of San Jose that lit up the hillside and was seen glowing from miles away. Crews from the San Jose Fire Department and Cal Fire responded just after 9 p.m. to the area near Sierra Road and managed to limit the spread to fewer than 10 acres.
