One child is dead, and several others are hurt after a house fire on the 4200 block of McCart Avenue in southwest Fort Worth. Fort Worth Fire Public Information Officer Craig Trojacek said his department received the call just before 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. Trojacek said they responded to the fire within four minutes and saw flames coming from the front and the sides of the home. Four people were pulled from the home by firefighters, but a school-aged child is confirmed dead. Two other children were taken by helicopter to the hospital. Trojacek said another child was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Firefighters said they believe at least six people were in the home.
