The Associated Press called the Democratic primary in Maryland’s sixth Congressional district for incumbent April McClain Delaney late Tuesday night. Denalney faced former Congressman David Trone in what might become the most expensive primary house election in US history. The two candidat es spent approximately $33 million dollars between them. The unofficial count as of early Wednesday morning from the Maryland State Board of Elections tallies Delaney’s votes at 18,146, or 43.65%. Trone won 15,516, or 37.33% of the votes. The remaining 20% of votes were divided among the other democrat primary candidates. Thousands of mail-in ballots are still to be counted, and Trone had yet to concede as of early Wednesday morning.
