ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller said Tuesday that he was in a vehicle crash and had to have his left arm amputated. “Last week, I was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital,” Miller, 42, said on X. On Wednesday, Miller was driving a 2023 Ford Bronco in Jasper County when he crossed the center line and collided with a semitruck, KOAM-TV of Pittsburg, Kansas, reported. “I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this,” Miller said on X. “As a result of the accident, I sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs. I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm. While I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time.” The person in the semitruck was not injured, according to KOAM. Miller thanked those who have been supporting him and said he is looking forward to his recovery and returning to ESPN to talk football and cover the next NFL draft class. Miller, a father of two, graduated from Missouri Southern State University. He began working for ESPN in 2021, starting as an NFL draft contributor and becoming a year-round draft analyst in 2022, according to his ESPN bio. Miller appears on multiple ESPN shows, including “NFL Live” and “SportsCenter.” This story uses functionality that may not work in our app. Click here to open the story in your web browser. ...read more read less
