 COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has won a runoff election, defeating the Republican whom President Donald Trump had initially picked to become the state’s gubernatorial nominee. After the announcement of his win over Lt. Gov Pamela Evette, Wilson gave a speech and even mentioned that Evette congratulated him before giving a shout out to President Donald Trump. Evette was orginially endorsed by President Trump, who later said he supported both candidates (Wilson and Evette). Wilson who is the son of longtime U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, has served as South Carolina’s Attorney General since 2011. Now Wilson will take on Democratic Nominee Jermaine Johnson who won the Democratic nomination on June 9 during the primary, in the race for governor of SC on November 3.
