(CNN)– Google will invest roughly $75 million into an Ai research partnership with independent movie studio, ‘A-24.’ That’s according to people familiar with the matter. A-24 is the studio behind recent hit films “Backrooms” and “Marty Supreme.” Google’s Ai unit “Deepmind” a nd ‘A-24’ want to create new tools to produce and distribute movies. An a-24 partner who handles the company’s technology work tells the Wall Street Journal that there are better ways to use Ai in filmmaking that in part, preserve creative control.
