FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — The annual Spark!Fishers festival returns to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater this week, offering the city’s largest summer celebration from Friday through Sunday.
The free multi-day festival provides various activities,
including concerts, a street fair, and a drone show, all free to the public. The fun begins Wednesday with the Spark! 5K.
Organizers say the Independence Day celebration is the city of Fishers’ biggest summer celebration and aims to showcase what makes Fishers special. This year, the festival will include surprises and even more fun in honor of America’s 250th birthday.
Kara Hall, marketing and PR manager, community and public relations with the city of Fishers, noted that the event “truly has something for everyone.”
Hall joined Daybreak on Monday and emphasized the festival’s role in the community, stating, “It’s our city’s biggest celebration. It really just showcases everything that makes Fishers special.”
On Friday, the News 8 team will be at the event with our WISH You Were Here series. The evening’s activities begin with the WISH-TV team doing a live broadcast from 3 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., followed by a free concert at 8 p.m. featuring Pinked, a Pink tribute band. Hall said the band will also have an “awesome” aerial and drone show. The latter is scheduled for 10 p.m.
Saturday offers a full day of events, starting with the annual street fair from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
People can stroll through rows of classic cars and marvelous art during the car and art show from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A parade at 7 p.m. and a fireworks finale at 10 p.m. will close out the weekend. Hall noted the classic cars will be exiting off of 116th Street.
Live entertainment will be available on seven different stages throughout the day.
An expanded kid zone will also be available this year.
For parking, a free shuttle service will be available from Crosspoint, located near 106th Street and I-69. Hall said, “You can park at Crosspoint, take the super easy shuttle all the way in. You’ll get dropped off right in the heart of the festival.”
