A 66-year-old woman was killed in an electric bike crash Saturday morning in Rehoboth Beach, according to Delaware State Police. According to police, the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, along Coastal Highway, north of Savages Ditch Road. Police said a GMC Sierra 25 00 was traveling southbound in the left lane of Coastal Highway while a woman from Potomac, Maryland, was riding an e-bike southbound in the designated bicycle lane. For reasons that remain under investigation, the woman left the bicycle lane and entered the southbound travel lanes into the path of the GMC, according to investigators. The truck then struck the woman riding the e-bike. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police. The woman’s identity has not been revealed pending notification of her family. The driver of the GMC, a 64-year-old man from Perryville, Maryland, was not injured, police said.
