Officials renamed a corner in the Germantown neighborhood in honor of the late activist Herbert “Drum” Burch. On Saturday, June 20, Councilwoman Cindy Bass hosted a street renaming ceremony to mark the official renaming of the corner of E. Collom Street and Wakefield Street to “Herbert ‘D rum’ Burch Way.” The renaming aims to honor the legacy of Burch, who was a community activist, veteran, healthcare professional, and political leader in the City of Philadelphia.
