  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, June 19th 2026 Meridian Fire Responds to Residential Structure Fire MERIDIAN- On 6/17/2026 just before 6:00 p.m., Meridian Fire Department crews responded to a residential structure fire in the 3600 block of S. Orleans Place. Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire had originated on the rear exterior of the home and had begun extending into the attic and roof. Thanks to the quick actions of responding crews, the fire was brought under control before it could spread further and cause more extensive damage to the residence. We are thankful that there were no injuries to residents, pets, or firefighters during this incident. However, ten residents have been displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. This incident serves as an important reminder that fires can spread rapidly, particularly during the warmer summer months. Early notification to 911 and the swift response of firefighters were critical in preventing further damage to the home and surrounding properties. The Meridian Fire Department would like to thank our partner agencies for their assistance and remind residents to regularly inspect their homes and property for potential fire hazards.
