FIFA World Cup fever is alive and well in Philadelphia, and that is especially true on Friday as the city prepares to host its second game at Lincoln Financial Field, currently known as Philadelphia Stadium. Since the World Cup started on June 11, the streets of Philadelphia have been filled with fans wearing their teams’ jerseys. On Friday, June 19, fan turnout is expected to be the biggest yet as the USA team prepares to face Australia in Seattle at 3 p.m. Later that evening, Brazil will face Haiti at Lincoln Financial Field. From watch parties at bars and restaurants to the Fan Fest at Lemon Hill, fans from all over the world are expected to be out and about to enjoy the Friday matches. Meg Kane, host city executive and CEO for Philadelphia Soccer 2026, told NBC10 they’re expecting thousands of people at Lemon Hill on Friday. “We are expecting huge crowds, a really exciting day here in Philadelphia,” Kane said. Kane added that registration for Friday is closed. However, she clarified that guests are welcome on a first come, first serve basis. Registration does not guarantee entry. On Thursday, Haitian and Brazilian fans gathered across the city as the two teams prepared for Friday’s match. Hundreds of Brazilian fans gathered at the Philadelphia Museum of Art with flags, chants and electrifying energy. “This is a moment in Brazil,” said Lorival Guerreiro, who traveled from Limeira, Brazil. “They promote this place to celebrate before the game. The Brazilians come here to celebrate our team.” The World Cup and Fan Fest will run from June 11 through July 19, 2026.
