A 43-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday in North Philadelphia, police said. According to police, officers responded just after 1 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026 to the 2000 block of North 29th Street, where they found a man lying on the ground. Police said the man had been shot thre e times. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later. Real-time crime cameras showed that the man was involved in a physical fight with another man shortly before the shooting, according to police. At that scene, police said investigators found 5 spent shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon. Police said the victim’s identity is being withheld until the family is notified. No arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered at this time, according to police. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
