CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Governor Josh Stein honored some of Charlotte’s most influential leaders with one of North Carolina’s highest civilian awards. On Wednesday, Stein presented the Order of the Long Leaf Pine to a distinguished group of Mecklenburg County leaders, recognizing them for their l asting impact on the community. Among those honored were Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, former Charlotte Mayor Richard Vinroot, businessman and Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper,and Panthers legend Steve Smith Sr. The prestigious honor recognizes North Carolinians who have demonstrated extraordinary service and leadership throughout their careers.
