Don’t ignore that LinkedIn message any longer. It might just be life changing.
After Cape Verde stunned Spain with a 0-0 draw to open its 2026 World Cup schedule, the lives and stories of many players went viral.
One such story involved defender Roberto Lopes, who started and played the enti

Lopes, 33, was born in Dublin, Ireland, and has played club soccer professionally in the country since 2010. He played one game for the Republic of Ireland under-19 team, but never registered an official international cap.
