STATESVILLE, N.C. – Statesville Police say a bear has been spotted near a local park. The department posted a photo on Facebook, showing the bear in the area around Martin Luther King, Junior Park. Police say while seeing a bear in the city may be surprising, it’s not unusual for them to wand er into developed areas. It has not shown any aggressive behavior and will likely move on.
