A 71-year-old Franklin Township man has been charged with first-degree murder after strangling a 41-year-old woman to death, Gloucester County prosecutors said Monday. According to prosecutors, Franklin Township officers responded to a home on East Avenue at around 6:16 a.m. on Thursday, June 11 , where they tried to save the woman’s life. The suspect, Dennis J. Hall, remained at the scene and admitted to officers at the time that he had strangled the woman, prosecutors said. The woman, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital, where she died on Friday, June 12, after being taken off of life support, prosecutors said.
