INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Indiana ranked second in the nation for job resignations during the final months of last year, according to a new workforce study.
Researchers found that an average of 91,000 Indiana workers voluntarily left their jobs each month during the period analyzed, placing the stat
e behind only Alaska in the rate of resignations.
According to the report, the findings suggest many Hoosiers remain confident in their ability to find new employment opportunities despite a job market that has become more competitive in recent months.
Workforce analysts say resignation rates are often viewed as a measure of worker confidence, as employees are generally more willing to leave existing positions when they believe better opportunities are available elsewhere.
The study found that while hiring activity has slowed from the rapid pace seen in recent years, workers in Indiana continue to pursue new jobs, career advancement and higher wages.
Researchers noted that labor market conditions remain relatively strong overall, even as employers face increased competition to attract and retain qualified workers.
The report’s findings highlight ongoing shifts in Indiana’s workforce as employees continue to evaluate career opportunities in a changing economic environment.
