One more letter about the greedy and completely self-serving recent salary increases our city councilors gave themselves and the mayor. Was this deserved? Of course not. They had only just gotten into office and had done approximately zero for the community as of yet.  Were there studies, su rveys or other actions taken to show that these raises were justified? Certainly none that have been shared publicly. No, this was just backroom, self-serving greed. It is such a shame that Utah law does not allow its citizens to pursue a recall election. I have no doubt if this was allowed that the citizens of Park City would overwhelmingly vote to recall this entire crew. Utah law does allow politicians to resign. And they can vote to rescind the move they just made. Both would be the right thing to do. Or, as we all suspect, they will simply move on, presume that public disgust over their pathetic, self-serving moves will be forgotten. Please citizens, everytime you see the mayor or the council members, please remind them directly of your disdain for their actions. Keep our irritation in their faces.  Please do not let them carry on with business as usual. Keep the pressure on them to do the right thing and maybe, just maybe, they will truly understand how bad this move was and do the right thing to rectify it.
