I’m outraged
Jun 06, 2026
The mayor of Dallas, Texas, is paid $80,000 per year. The mayor of Phoenix, Arizona, has a salary of $103,840. Mayors in Vail, Aspen and Jackson Hole have salaries of $20,400, $39,900, and $44,000.
Does it seem logical that our mayor of just six months will see his salary go from $55,000 to
$117,000 and the members of our City Council, with the exception of Bill Ciraco, voted to raise their salaries 100% from $29,000 to $58,000.
Putting this into perspective, the staff of the Zoning Department, Building Department, and the Planning Department are full-time employees and they are frequently required to attend City Council and Planning Department meetings after their work day. The salaries for these valued employees range from $80,000 to $152,000.
