Police arrested a man accused of stabbing another man to death in Northeast Philadelphia last month. Anthony Ramon-Maldonado, 25, was arrested and charged in the murder of 22-year-old Joshua Toth, police revealed on Friday, June 5. On Sunday, May 24, police responded to an unrelated disturban ce on the 6000 block of Torresdale Avenue when witnesses approached them and reported a stabbing victim nearby. Police then discovered Toth in the backseat of a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Benner Street and Torresdale Avenue. He was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his torso. Toth was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m. that day. Police released photos of a suspect in the stabbing and received tips from the public. They later identified him as Anthony Ramon-Maldonado. Ramon-Maldonado was later arrested and charged with murder and possessing an instrument of crime. Ramon-Maldonado’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 22, 2026. Online court records don’t list an attorney who could speak on his behalf. While Ramon-Maldonado is in custody, police continue to investigate the incident.
