San Jose’s Naomi Girma is among the elite women’s soccer stars overseas and on Team USA. The Stanford graduate now lives in London, playing for Chelsea. In 2025, the club signed Girma for $1.1 million, the highest transfer fee ever paid for a female soccer player. Her worldwide recogniti on starts with her village in the Bay Area.
