Officials in Northampton County are searching for the suspects responsible for spilling stolen cooking oil onto neighborhood roads. Police in Hellertown said thieves stole cooking oil from restaurants, but a malfunction on a van or box truck caused the stolen oil to spill onto the roadway near M ain and High streets in Hellertown. The spilled oil spread east onto Wilson Avenue then Oliver Street before going to East High Street, police said. Investigators are now asking residents and businesses in the area to review security camera footage that may have captured the vehicle spilling liquid onto the road.
