The Literacy Project announced that Beth and Roger Armstrong are the recipients of its 2026 Humanitarian of the Year Award.  The honor, staged at the annual Hot Hollywood Night fundraiser on July 30, will recognize the couple’s decades of combined service, leadership and unwavering commitmen t to improving the health, legal framework and overall well-being of the Summit County community, the organization said.  The 2026 Humanitarian of the Year Award will be officially presented to Beth and Roger Armstrong during The Literacy Project’s annual benefit gala at Promontory Club’s Double Deer Ballroom, 6347 Nicklaus Valley Road. “Beth and Roger embody the very spirit of community leadership,” said Laura Rubin, regional director of The Literacy Project. “Through their respective careers and extensive volunteer work, they have consistently stepped up to advocate for others, champion vital community resources and build a stronger, more equitable Summit County. We are thrilled to honor their incredible legacy this year.” The Literacy Project provided the following about each honoree: “Roger has been a pillar of local governance and the legal community for many years. A prominent entertainment attorney, Roger has brought his extensive legal expertise to the public sector, serving as a dedicated member of the Summit County Council since 2012. Throughout his tenure on the council, he has been a steadfast advocate for responsible regional growth, environmental preservation, and sustainable community development.” The organization called Beth a “highly respected executive and advocate with a profound legacy in healthcare and community wellness.” “She currently serves as the Managing Director at Marcella Club and Executive Vice President of Reef Capital, bringing sharp strategic leadership to the private sector,” The Literacy Project said. “Prior to this role, Beth served as the executive director of the People’s Health Clinic, where she championed healthcare access for the uninsured.
